I was struggling a few months back trying to help a client move her Blogger Blog to WordPress because Blogger was no longer going to be supporting FTP publishing, they were giving us ‘the boot’ so my client decided to move her blog to WordPress. I started to migrate the blog over but soon ran into some issues that I was unsure how to solve.
First of all my client had an ‘old school’ blogger blog so I couldn’t just transfer the content over I spent about 2 hours (of my own time) researching plugins and tricks to maintain Permalinks. I had given up, I just couldn’t do it, this was getting tricky. So in doing my research I came across an article by Devil’s Workshop (love the name) and I tried a few tricks they had outlined. But, because I was dealing with a clients old Blogger platform it wasn’t working. I needed professional help. The guys at Devil’s Workshop also have a site called Blogger to WordPress Migration. So I did it, took the plunge and contacted them. Not only did was the blog migration done quickly and economically, but they were professional and very nice and answered my questions. I mainly worked with Harsh and he was fantastic!
If you need to move your blog from Blogger to WordPress (and you totally should) then I suggest hiring the guys from Blogger to WordPress Migration to do it for you.
When you move your blog over you will need a new theme and I suggest using Studio Press themes or Flexx Themes.
